The Pennsylvania State Treasury is responsible for safeguarding and managing the state of Pennsylvania's finical assets, but also the State Treasury of PA has other responsibilities which include: Conducting investigations of loss, theft, or fraud involving commonwealth checks, Reviewing and approving real estate leases and sole source contracts entered into by commonwealth agencies before such leases and contracts can become effective, and making certain government contract information public due to the Right-to-Know law which was signed into law in 2008.
