The Pennsylvania Attorney General is the chief law enforcement officer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Office of the Attorney General is responsible for the prosecution of crime in the state of Pennsylvania, which would included organized crime, public corruption, civil litigation on behalf of state agencies and the civil enforcement of some Commonwealth laws. This would include laws that would pertain to consumer protection and charities in the state of Pennsylvania or whom do business with Pennsylvania and or it's citizens. The Attorney General represents the state of Pennsylvania in all actions brought by or against the commonwealth, and reviews all proposed regulations by state agencies.

The Attorney General also is a member of the Board of Pardons, the joint Committee on Documents, the Hazardous Substances Transportation Board, the Board of Finance and Revenue, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, the Civil Disorder Commission and the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission.
