The Pennsylvania Department of Insurance is responsible for administering the laws of regulating the insurance industry which in turn protects the Pennsylvania consumers whom purchase insurance. The PA Insurance Department protects the citizens of Pennsylvania by monitoring the financial solvency of insurance companies, license insurance companies and producers/agents, review and approve insurance policy language and rates, coordinate the rehabilitation and liquidation of insolvent insurance companies, and administering health insurance programs for eligible children.
