The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) is responsible for the construction, finance, operation, and maintaining the Pennsylvania Turnpike which is a toll road that crosses the entire state of Pennsylvania. The PTC is made up of of five members which four of the members of the commission are appointed by the governor the fifth member of the commission is the current acting Secretary of Transportation for the state of Pennsylvania. The Turnpike Commission is also responsible for other roads in Pennsylvania which include: James E. Ross Highway, Amos K. Hutchinson Bypass, Mon/Fayette Expressway and Pittsburgh's Southern Beltway, the latter two of which are currently under construction.
