The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) is responsible for the collection and conservation Pennsylvania's historic heritage. The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission cares for historical manuscripts, public records, and objects of historic interest. The mission of the PHCMC is to work in partnership with others to preserve the state of Pennsylvania's rich history and to steward, teach, and advocate for the citizens of Pennsylvania and the nation.  The PHMC helps individuals understand Pennsylvania's past and to appreciate the present and to look forward to the future of Pennsylvania.
