Department of Environmental Protection

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is responsible for protecting and preserving the land, air, water, and energy resources through enforcement of the State's environmental laws. The DEP also helps in community development, environmental education, and encourages public involvement in environmental issues that affect the state of Pennsylvania.  The Department of Environmental Protection in Pennsylvania operates out of 6 regional offices which include: Norristown, Harrisburg, Williamsport, Wilkes-Barre, Pittsburgh, and Meadville.
